Lobos Take On Bruin Wave Invite Monday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico women’s golf team is back on the road, this time taking on the Bruin Wave invitational hosted by UCLA and Pepperdine in Somis, Calif. The three-day, 54-hole tournament will tee off Monday at 8 a.m. PT (9 a.m. MT) and continue through Wednesday.

The Lobos will compete at The Saticoy Club, a 6,273-yard, par-72 course and will be joined by 14 squads. New Mexico will see a pair of Mountain West teams in Colorado State and San Diego State, both of which the Lobos have seen once before this season. SDSU finished just one spot ahead of the Lobos at the Lamkin Invitational while UNM finished five places ahead of the Rams at the Rebel Beach Invitational.

Also competing on the week will be a pair of top-25 ranked squads in No. 10 Arizona State and No. 17 Northwestern, along with Cal Poly, CSU Fullerton, Long Beach State, Nebraska, New Mexico State, Oregon, Oregon State, Pepperdine, UCLA and Washington.

The Lobo lineup will feature last season’s Mountain West Freshman of the Year Napat “Jenny” Lertsadwattana as well as redshirt senior Reva Morris, senior Caroline Jansson, sophomore Lauren Lehigh and freshman Myah McDonald.

Lerstadwattana has led UNM through both of its tournaments so far this season and has carded a team-low score of 70 while averaging 73.0 strokes per round. Morris follows with a 73.3 scoring average and a low round of 71.

Fans will be able to follow the Lobos live via Live Stats. The Lobos will tee off at 9:50 a.m. PT (10:50 a.m. MT) on hole one.
