#BestOfThe2000s: Glover Quin
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Glover Quin parlayed a wonder Lobo career into a brilliant NFL career that saw him lead the league in interceptions as he played for Houston and Detroit in a 10-year career. He was known for interceptions, consistency and smarts. Know he’s also known as a member of the UNM Lobo Football #BestOfThe2000s team member, pretty much obliterating the vote to become the 26th member of the squad.
No one was remotely close to Quin, who picked up an astonishing 76.9% of the vote, to race past second-place finisher D’Angelo Ross. Bubba Forrest and Cranston Jones rounded out the poll.
The second of five DBs on the #BestOfThe2000s team wins it in an absolute landslide! Glover Quin becomes the 26th member of the squad getting nearly 80% of the vote! #GoLobos pic.twitter.com/WYXM6X8lUB

The series is a way to engage Lobo fans with the current situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.
Quin lettered from 2006-08, and he is all over the UNM record books. His five picks as a senior in 2008 led the team, and he is on the single-season pass break up charts twice, with 12 in 2006 (tied for sixth) and 11 in 2008 (tied for ninth).n Overall, his 31 pass breakup are the most in school history. He was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week for his play in UNM’s 36-28 win over Arizona in 2008. A team captain in 2008, he was UNM’s lone First Team All-Mountain West selection that year.
He played in the 2009 East-West Shrine Game and was named team MVP that season. He was selected in the fourth round of the NFL draft by the Houston Texans, and played four years there before moving to Detroit, where he played six seasons. Overall he played in 159 of a possible 160 games, and he started the final 154 games of his career. That’s the fourth-longest starting streak by a defensive back in the history of the NFL
Our third DB poll for the #BestOfThe2000s team runs until noon on Friday. Same as before, winner is the 27th member of the squad, second place stays alive and advances to the Friday poll. Here we go… #GoLobos
