Following the Spring 2018 semester in which UNM posted a 3.69 team GPA, five Lobos were named to the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar list.
“Our athletes are very serious about their education. Having five All-American Scholars in one year is an incredible accomplishment,” head coach Jill Trujillo said after the award was released. “These young women strive to be the best at their craft and their studies. We are very proud of our team and appreciate the support of our Lobo family.”
Of the five Lobos to earn the prestigious honor, three remain on this year’s squad including junior Reva Morris and seniors Darian Zachek and Emma Edwards. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most demanding in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA to qualify for the team is 3.50.
The Lobos are set to begin their spring season on February 18 on the road at the Rebel Beach Invitational, hosted by UNLV and Long Beach State in Las Vegas, Nev.
