Lobo Baseball to hold Cherry and Silver Series beginning October 30

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico baseball team has announced that it will hold its annual five-game Cherry and Silver Series beginning on Tuesday, October 30 at 6 p.m. at Santa Ana Star Field. All games are free and open to the public.
 
The remaining schedule of the intra-squad series will see games played on Wednesday, October 31, Thursday, November 1, Friday, November 2, and Saturday, November 3. All game times are slated 6 p.m. except for Saturday’s series finale as that first-pitch is tabbed for Noon.
 
Assistant coaches Jon Coyne and Nate Causey will head up the teams with Causey skippering the Cherry and Coyne at the helm of the Silver. Rising seniors Jared Mang and Hayden Schilling will serve as captains of their respective teams. Mang will captain the Cherry and Schilling the Silver.
 
As in year’s past, each game will feature honorary coaches for both the Cherry and Silver. As honorary coaches, they will take the lineup to home plate, discuss strategy with assistant coaches, and after the game be acknowledged and thanked for being a part of Lobo Baseball.

Honorary Coaches: John Sapien (Cherry) vs. Sander Rue (Silver)
 
Game 3 | Thursday, November 1 | 6 p.m.
Honorary Coaches: Chris Ritchie (Cherry) vs. Fred Hultberg (Silver)
 
Game 4 | Friday, November 2 | 6 p.m.
Honorary Coaches: Alex Allbritton, Mitch Garver  & Kole McKamey (Cherry) vs. Danny Collier, Kevin Letz & Matt Villalobos (Silver)
 
Game 5 | Saturday, November 3 | Noon
Honorary Coaches: Adam Harrington and Rob Burpo (Cherry) vs. Mike Putnam and Dale Scott (Silver)
