FIRST LOOK: Lobo Women’s Basketball to hold open practice/scrimmage on Saturday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Coming off of a breakout 25-11 season a year ago that saw the Lobos host postseason WNIT games, expectations and excitement are high for the 2018-19 University of New Mexico women’s basketball team. The season officially kicks off on October 30 with a home exhibition game against Lubbock Christian, but eager Lobo women’s basketball fans will have an earlier opportunity to see the team action as head coach Mike Bradbury has announced the team will host a free and open to the public practice/scrimmage on Saturday, October 20 at Dreamstyle Arena – The Pit.
 
“I can’t wait to get our players in front of the best fans in the country for the first time this year,” exclaimed Bradbury! “We have some familiar returners from last year and some exciting and talented newcomers, so this open practice and scrimmage is a great opportunity to give Lobo fans an up-close look at this year’s team.”
 
The open practice/scrimmage is slated to begin at 10 a.m. and will feature an on-court autograph session with the players at the conclusion.
 
Fans wishing to purchase season ticket packages will be able to do so at the event as well. The Lobo ticket office will be on site at the Northeast corner of Dreamstyle Arena with Select-A-Seat, allowing fans to choose their seats in best-available locations for the 2018-19 season. Current season-ticket holders can also upgrade their seats to available sections if they wish.
 
There will also be a table set up on the concourse level for fans to join or renew with the 3-Point Club. The 3-Point Club is a fundraising arm of women’s basketball with 100% of donations through the club going directly to Lobo Women’s Basketball.
 
Parking for the event will be at the Pit West lot, and fans are asked to stop and check in with the parking attendants as the lots for football parking for the game later that day are not open until 11:30 a.m. The entrance for fans will be at the main entrance of Dreamstyle Arena – The Pit in the Northeast corner of the facility.
