New Mexico Game Notes

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The New Mexico Lobos aren’t out of the conference tournament picture, but the Lobos are starting to run out of time.  The team, playing solid baseball of late, will look to move right back into the top four in the league with a key three-game road series at San Jose State.  All three games will be broadcast by ESPN Radio 101.7 The Team with Robert Portnoy on the call, and all three will be streamed as well.  The games on Friday and Sunday will be live streamed, with no video for Saturday’s game.

The Lobos are coming off a two-game road split at Grand Canyon, losing the opener 7-3 but winning the second game 10-4.  Robert Gasser picked up his second win of the season as he and four other relievers allowed just six hits and two walks with no earned runs and 10 strikeouts.

Jared Mang continued his power surge, with a long home run on Tuesday against Grand Canyon, and Robby Campillo added his first of the year on Wednesday.  Additionally, Justin Watari doubled and tripled on Wednesday.  For UNM, the issue is the dreaded injury bug, as Danny Collier hasn’t started any of the last seven games due to a knee injury, and Garrett Gouldsmith came out of Tuesday’s game early as well.
