John Catlin Wins on Asian Development Tour
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Former Lobo John Catlin won on the Asian Development Tour at the PGM EurAsia Perak Championship on Saturday, November 11, as he and other Lobos have been in competition on professional stages around the world.
Catlin finished the tournament with a 16-under 272 total, ending seven strokes clear of the next competitor. He had a 4-under 68, 2-under 70, and two consecutive 5-under 67’s in his four rounds in that order. This was Catlin’s second career victory on the Asian Development Tour. Gavin Green continued his strong play on the Asian Tour, finishing seventh at the Resorts World Manila Masters. Green finished with a 15-under 273 total (71-67-67-68 in four rounds), maintaining his spot on top of the Asian Tour’s Order of Merit. His $567,336 gives him a $106,157 lead over current runner-up David Lipsky. For full results, click here.
Victor Perez finished tied for 30th at the NBO Golf Classics Grand Final with a 1-under 287 total. He posted a 5-over 77 in round one, a 1-over 73 in round two, a 2-under 70 in round three and a 5-under 67 in round four. Perez finished 18th in European Challenge Tour points, just missing the qualification cut as the top-15 golfers qualify for the European Tour. However, he has full Challenge Tour status for 2018 along with conditional status for the European Tour, beginning his 2018 season at the Australian PGA Championship on November 30. James Erkenbeck advanced past the second round of European Tour Q-School earlier this month at the Desert Springs Golf Club in Almeria, Spain, finishing tied for fourth with a 12-under 276 total. Madalitso Muthiya also competed with him, but he did not advance to the finals, finishing tied for 48th with a 1-under 287 total. For full results, click here.
Erkenbeck then missed the cut in the final stage on Tuesday at the Lumine Golf Club in Tarragona, Spain. He finished tied for 112th with a 3-over 289 total. Erkenbeck scored a 2-over 73 in round one, a 1-over 73 in round two, a 5-over 76 in round three and finished strong with a 5-under 67 in round four. For full results, click here.
Both Andrej Bevins and Sam Saunders competed in the second stage of Web.com Tour Q-School at the Bear Creek Golf Club in Murrieta, Calif. Both failed to advance to the finals though, with Bevins scoring a 6-over 293 total, tying for 52nd, and Saunders finishing with an 8-over 296, tying for 61st. The top-20 (plus ties) from the event advanced to the final round. For full results, click here.
Michael Letzig and DJ Brigman also competed in the second stage of Web.com Tour Q-School at different sites. Letzig failed to advance past the second stage at the Southern Hills Plantation Club in Brooksville, Fla., tying for 32nd. He finished the tournament with a 5-under 283. For full results, click here.
