Andrej Bevins Season 2013-14

NEW MEXICO: A highly touted prospect who burst onto the scene with a tournament victory in just his third event as a collegian … potential to help the Lobos become one of the top teams in the country in 2014-15 if he continues to develop.

2013-14 (FRESHMAN): Played in 11 tournaments during his first season in the program … was part of the five-player group that won the MW Championship in Tucson, Ariz., in April. … earned his first official collegiate victory by tying Gavin Green for medalist honors at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate … tied for 10th at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate with a 6-under 207 … had a 13th-place finish in the season-opening Gopher Invitational, finishing at 2-over 215 … finished with four top-20 results in 11 events.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Christian Brothers High School and coach Kirk Purdy in Elk Grove, Calif and was rated the No. 7 player nationally in the class of 2013, as rated by golfweek.com… No. 2 in the state of California… a four-time varsity MVP …  Christian Brothers won league championships in each of Bevins’ four seasons there … advanced to the round of 16 at the 2012 USGA Junior Amateur 2012 Championships in July, finished third at both the 2012 AJGA Under Armour/Gary Woodland Championship in April and AJGA Heather Farr Classic in April and was runner-up to current Lobo senior John Catlin at the Memorial Amateur Championship in May of 2012… qualified for three USGA events in 2012, including the 2012 USGA Amateur and USGA Publinks Championships…a four-time varsity MVP at Christian Brothers.
