ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico Men’s Tennis team closes out their final two matches of the season this weekend in Colorado against Denver and Air Force.
The Lobos (10-12, 3-3 MW) will first travel to Denver, Colo. to take on the Denver Pioneers (10-11, 3-0 SL) on Friday, April 21 at 12 p.m. MT. New Mexico is coming off a 4-2 loss to both UNLV and San Diego State this past weekend while Denver is coming off a 7-0 sweep of IUPUI last Saturday.
Bart Van Leijsen and Dominic West post a 10-5 overall record in doubles for the team. No. 89 Ricky Hernandez-Tong and Rodolfo Jauregui follow with a 7-5 overall record. For Denver, No. 60 Alex Gasson and Yannik James also have 10-5 overall record for the Pioneers.
Hernandez-Tong has a 12-8 dual record followed by Jorge Escutia with a 8-7 dual record for the Lobos in singles. James has 13-6 dual record followed by Gasson with an 11-8 for the Pioneers in singles.
After the match in Denver, New Mexico makes their way down to Colorado Spring, Colo. on Saturday, April 22 to take on the Air Force Academy Falcons (7-15, 0-5 MW) at 3 p.m. MT. Air Force is coming off a 4-2 loss to UNLV and a 4-0 loss to San Diego State this last weekend. They play Nebraska-Omaha on Friday at 4:30 p.m. MT.
The Lobos and the Pioneers face off on Friday, April 21 at 12 p.m. MT and the Falcons on Saturday, April 22 at 3 p.m. MT. There will be a live stats feed for the match in Denver and both a live stats and video feed for the match in Colorado Springs.
The Lobos head to the 2017 Mountain West tournament in Boise, Idaho on Friday, April 28.
