COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Six members of the University of New Mexico swimming and diving team were selected to the Mountain West 2016-17 All-Conference Swimming and Diving Team on Monday.
Celine Bertrand was selected for two events – the 400 individual medley (sixth place – 4:19.84), and of course, the 200 butterfly event she won with a school-record time of 1:59.25 to become the first Lobo swimmer to win an individual Mountain West title (the conference started the 1999-2000 academic year).
Adriana Palomino was named all-conference in three events – the 200 (sixth place, 1:48.33), 500 (third place – 4:44.86) and 1,650 freestyle (fourth place – 16:30.54).
Also claiming all-conference honors for the Lobos was Lindsey Englestead (200 breaststroke – seventh place, 2:15.74 ), Anna Lengyel (200 butterfly – seventh place, 2:01.76), Emily McGill (200 breaststroke – eighth place, 2:16.56) and Konoha Shinada (100 butterfly – third place, 53.62)
The Lobos took sixth at the Mountain West championships.
