ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – University of New Mexico women’s soccer head coach Heather Dyche will be traveling to Brazil this summer to assist the U.S. Women’s National Team during the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.

Dyche will be assisting with scouting and analyzing opponents from around the world. Dyche has a history of working with U.S. Soccer, helping with youth national teams and is a national instructor on US Soccer educational staff.

“It’s an incredible opportunity,” stated Dyche. “I’m really proud to be able to represent New Mexico at the Olympic level.”

The Lobos’ head coach adds this role to a long resume internationally. Dyche serves on the instructional staff for The Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF). As the only female of the CONCACAF educational board, Dyche teaches C, D and grassroots courses in order while developing and writing content for all women’s grassroots programs.

The U.S. will open Group G play on Aug. 3, two days before the Olympic Opening Ceremony, against New Zealand (5 p.m. MST) at Mineirão Stadium in Belo Horizonte. The USA will also face France and Colombia.
