Ardmore, OK – After day one action in The Maxwell Invitational, the University of New Mexico men’s golf team sits in T3 at 6-under 554.
Head coach Glen Millican began his thoughts on the day with;
“Really good job by our guys all day. Wind was tough. Greens are fast and our guys did an excellent job of staying patient.”
The Lobos were lead by Andre Garcia on the day, whose afternoon round of 3-under 67 propelled him into T6 at 2-under 138 overall.
Samuel Kim also continued to play on a high level. His fiery 4-under 66 got the Lobos off to a quick start. Kim unfortunately couldn’t keep up with same pace in the afternoon and finished the day a 1-under 139 and T10.

If Morantes was the excitement, freshman Sean Carlon was the balanced consistency. Carlon carded even-par 70’s in both of his rounds and finished the day T22 (70-70-140).
Rounding out UNM’s list of competitors is Andrej Bevins who carded a few big numbers on the day, yet he was able to recover nicely. Bevins currently sits at 5-over 145 (71-74).
