Lobo Faithful:
Win or “Season Over” Friday night. The boys came through with a complete performance vs Florida Atlantic and booked our ticket to the Conference-USA Tournament in Charlotte, NC. Friday night was a very special night. We celebrated the tremendous careers of our two seniors; Josh Dye and Adrian Mora Delgado and also remembered the impact Stu Walker (our friend and longtime PA announcer) had on Lobo Soccer. A night filled with wide ranging emotions. I was really happy with our play on both sides of the ball. 3 goals and a clean sheet: 3-0 victory and we are finding our form….at the right time….hitting our peak come playoff time. Ready for the next one! Lobos vs FAU (wait 15 seconds for video link to appear): http://www.golobos.com/news/2015/11/6/MSOC_1106154518.aspx
We had four alumni in town for our final regular season match. Nick Miele, Patrick Poblete and Ben McKendry from last years squad and Norwegian Lars Loseth (2005-2007) all made the trip to Albuquerque. As a coach, you feel really good when you see the quality of young men we have helped guide. I’m really proud of our players and the role they play in the community. Tremendous role models.
We open Conference-USA Tournament play Wednesday at 4:30 EST vs the University of South Carolina. This is going to be a great one. It was a tight match on the road in late September and we came out on the short end in overtime. Can’t wait to kick this one off! We are healthy, confident and excited. One game at a time. We shot the final regular season episode of “Fish Off the Pitch” today with elusive guest, Coach Paul Souders. The final product should be up and running tomorrow. Here’s the link: https://golobos.com/news/2015/11/9/MSOC_1109151455.aspx
Thanks for all your support and look forward to reporting back with good news next week. GO LOBOS!
