Flushing Meadows, N.Y.– The pair of Hayden Sabatka and Bart Van Leijsen played in the quarterfinal match of the prestigious USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships today and pulled off another huge win.
The pair defeated the no.3 seeded Jordan Angus and Fillip Vittek from the University of San Diego. The Lobos beat USD 6-3 in the first set. In the second, they battled to a close set, but won 7-6.
“Bart and Hayden played another solid match from start to finish,” said head coach Bart Scott. “Up 6-3, 4-1 they took their foot off the gas for just a second and USD capitalized and extended the match. The guys regrouped quickly and finished the match strong. We are looking forward to competing in the semis of the National Indoors tomorrow.”
The Lobos will play the winner of Texas Tech and Columbia tomorrow in the semifinals of the tournament.
