Tulsa, Okla.—The University of New Mexico men’s tennis team wrapped up their play in the 2015 ITA Men’s All-American Championships with the exception of two players. Hayden Sabatka and Bart Van Leijsen, who are ITA ranked No. 29 in doubles, have battled their way to the main draw.
After beating the Florida duo in the round of 64 on Tuesday, Sabatka and Van Leijsen won their match in the round of 32 today against another Florida team. In the round of 16 the pair defeated Jack Findel-Hawkins and Yannick Zuern of University of North Florida 7-5, 6-2.
“The guys played solid doubles,” head coach Bart Scott said. “It was an old school doubles affair. Hats off to the team from UNF, they competed hard and played very solid doubles.”
