ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico football team’s “Spring Showcase” Friday night, April 17th practice to close out Spring Football will definitely bring fans up close with the squad, as the fan-friendly event will feature inflatables, live radio remotes, food, autograph sessions, and most importantly, Lobo football.

The Spring Showcase will take place at Branch Field at University Stadium with gates opening at 5:30 p.m, with practice running until around 7:15 p.m.  The fan-friendly event is designed to let families come and have a great time, check out the team and get excited for the 2015 Lobo football season.

Parking for the event will be in the Stadium West lot, and it will be free.  All fans are asked to enter the stadium at Gate 4 (NW Corner).  Gate 3 will be available for handicapped fans as well.  The first 100 fans through the gates will receive a free 2014 Lobo Football Highlight DVD, and all fans will receive schedule posters.  All fan seating will be on the west side of University Stadium.

Several special concessions items will be available, including $2 hot dogs, $1 small sodas, and $1 ice cream sandwiches.

Two inflatables for kids will be available in the Northwest Corner, also with a live remote for KNML 610 AM.  Michael Carlyle and Mike Trujillo, hosts of The Sports Bar, will broadcast their show live from the stadium.

Fans will also be able to check out a special tickets sales table or the Northwest Box Office and purchase new season tickets, or renew season tickets.  Season ticket packages start for as little as $96, which averages out to under $14 per game.  New Mexico’s season ticket prices are the lowest in the Mountain West.  UNM will have Joe Gehling (925-1620) and former Lobo tight end Andrew Aho (925-5743) available to help fans renew or purchase tickets, and answer any questions as well.

After the Spring Showcase scrimmage ends, fans will be allowed onto the field to get autographs from the team members and take pictures as well.

The Lobos, who won four games last season, have seven home games among the 12 in the 2015 season, including home games with conference rivals Utah State, Air Force and Colorado State.  UNM also hosts the annual Rio Grande Rivalry game on Oct. 3 against New Mexico State and has other home games with Tulsa, Hawai’i and the Lobos open the season on Sept. 5 against Jerry Rice’s alma mater, Mississippi Valley State.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Day nine of Lobo Spring Practice saw the beginning of the fourth week of practice, and the warmest day yet of the spring.  UNM’s special teams got plenty of work on the day, and there was a lot of one-on-one between receivers and defenders.  There is a day nine photo gallery courtesy UNM Communications.  Feel free to save photos to facebook and twitter and pass them around, as well as the day one video.

UNM’s next practice is 9-11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, and it is open to the public and the media.  Remember to follow UNM football on social media as well.
