ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Lobo football begins year four under head coach Bob Davie and this year’s home schedule includes seven home games for Lobo fans attending Branch Field at University Stadium. The 2015 squad boasts 17 returning starters from a year ago and 54 lettermen overall returning to a team that won four games and picked up their most conference wins since the 2008 season.
Among the returners for 2015 is the nation’s leading tackler in Dakota Cox, and the nation’s leader in yards per carry in Jhurell Pressley, who averaged 9.6 yards per rush. UNM also boasts some tremendous speed, including receiver and kick returner Ridge Jones, who led the Mountain West in kickoff return average last season and in February won the Mountain West Indoor Track 60-meter dash championship with a school and conference record 6.60 time.
UNM also returns several players from the state of New Mexico that will be big factors in 2015, including starting tight end Reece White from Rio Rancho, punter/kicker Zack Rogers from Rio Rancho, and running backs Romell Jordan from Rio Rancho and David Anaya from Roswell.
“When I came here, I talked about working to bring big-time college football to Albuquerque,” said head coach Bob Davie. “Whatever I can do to light this flame and keep it going I’m going to do. If we can get one more person excited about Lobo football which means one more person in the stands come September to help us win a game, I’m all for it.”

“We have kept prices static for the past few years, understanding that it would take a bit for the program to develop under Coach Davie. This year we have expectations to compete for a bowl” said Paul Krebs, Vice President for Athletics. “2015 prices have been adjusted to reflect our additional seventh home game along with a 5% increase. The increase in prices is needed to, and will go to support all of our athletic programs.”
