PROVO, Utah (AP) – Rafael Araujo scored 18 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to
lead BYU to an 88-71 victory over New Mexico Saturday – the Cougars’ fifth win
in a row.

BYU led 41-36 at the half, shooting 53.6 percent from the field while
holding the Lobos to 40.7 percent shooting. But the Cougars (17-7, 7-4 Mountain
West) stepped it up in the second half – rattling in 68.2 percent of their
shots, including 4 of 7 from 3-point range – to tear away in the second half.

BYU finished with 32 points in the paint, compared with 17 for the Lobos
(13-10, 4-6).

Troy DeVries scored 16 points for New Mexico, while Javin Tindall added 12
points and four assists.

Mark Bigelow had 16 points, four assists and six rebounds for BYU, while
Mike Hall chipped in 16 points and five boards.
