Phil Dimas

TitleDirector of Player Development

Phil Dimas joined Lobo Baseball in August of 2025 after serving as a strength coach and assistant coach at College of the Desert for four seasons. A driveline certified hitting coach, Dimas directly worked with and learned hitting philosophy from UNM alum and former Colorado Rockies hitting coordinator Jimmy Johnson. While at College of the Desert (2021-25), Dimas instructed the first strength and conditioning program for a Roadrunners team that won its conference and advanced to a CCCAA Super Regional in 2022. College of the Desert qualified for a Regional in each of the four seasons with Dimas on staff with a 100% sophomore move-on rate (75+ athletes), the best in the state of California and Top-5 in the nation.

In 2024, Dimas was named Palm Springs Collegiate League Coach of the Year.

After graduating Tanque Verde High School in Tucson, Arizona in 2017, Dimas played baseball for multiple institutions throughout his collegiate career, including College of The Desert in 2019-20.

Dimas owns a Bachelors of Science in Human Performance from College of the Desert with a focus in Strength and Conditioning – he has also worked as a private strength and performance coach, allowing him to work with over 150 college and professional athletes in the last five years.
