Patrick Harrison

Patrick Harrison joined the New Mexico women’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach in April 2026.

Harrison most recently coached at Wichita State, but also made stops at Stephen F. Austin, New Mexico State, Kansas City (University of Missouri-Kansas City), Iowa Western, Johnson County Community College, North Dakota State, Hastings College and got his coaching start at Wichita State as a graduate assistant.

Throughout his coaching career, Harrison has experienced success, guiding SFA to the WAC championship game, the Aggies to the College Basketball Invitational, and was 70-46 with a pair of 20-plus wins seasons at Kansas City. UMKC made a WNIT appearance and won the WAC regular season in 2019-20, finishing 13-3 in conference play.

With Iowa Western, the team went 25-5 in 2017-18, ranked 15th in the national standings and won the ICCAC regular season championship. During his time at North Dakota State, three players were named to the All-Summit League, the most Bison to earn honors since NDSU joined the Summit League at the time.

Harrison earned an associate's degree from Hesston College in 2007, his bachelor's degree in psychology human services from Friends University in 2009 and his master’s degree from Wichita State in sports management in 2013.
