Malik Whitehead joined the Lobo family in January 2025 and serves as an assistant director of athletic performance. Before UNM, he served as a graduate assistant in strength and conditioning at the University of Idaho.
With UNM, Whitehead assists the program in all aspects of strength and conditioning, with an emphasis on movement, speed, and explosiveness.
Whitehead came to UNM from the University of Idaho, where he worked under head coach Jason Eck. Whitehead was a student-athlete at Aurora University, where he played football and ran track and field.
Whitehead earned his bachelor's in exercise science from Aurora University and his master's in movement science from the University of Idaho.
