Carson Walch, a veteran coach with extensive experience at both the collegiate and professional levels, joined the Lobo Family in February of 2026 and serves as the Passing Game Coordinator/Receivers Coach.
He has coached numerous NFL All-Pros and standouts, including Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffrey, Desean Jackson, Nelson Agholor, and Mack Hollins.
PREVIOUS COACHING STOPS
CLEVELAND BROWNS (2021-25): Walch spent five seasons with the Cleveland Browns, starting as the player development coordinator before being promoted in 2023 as director of offensive skill development.
He worked with the receivers, quarterbacks, running backs, and tight ends. He was with the Browns when they went 11-6 in 2023, finishing second in the AFC North and qualifying for the playoffs. The 11 wins tied for the most by a Browns team since 1986, when the Browns went 12-4, losing to the Denver Broncos after “The Drive” by John Elway.
He spent all five seasons under head coach Kevin Stefanski.
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (2018-19): Walch served as the assistant receivers coach in 2018 before moving up to receivers coach in 2019.
EDMONTON ESKIMOS, CFL (2016-17): Served as the passing game coordinator and receivers coach in 2016 before being promoted to offensive coordinator in 2017, along with keeping his receivers coaching duties. That season, the Eskimos led the CFL in 20 offensive categories.
MINNESOTA (2015): Served the Minnesota Golden Gophers as an offensive passing game consultant, earning a spot in the Quick Lane Bowl.
CHICAGO BEARS (2013-14): Was assistant receivers coach and offensive quality control coach for two seasons. While there, Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall were selected to the Pro Bowl.
MONTREAL ALOUETTES (2010-12): Walch got his first taste of the CFL with the Alouettes, first as an offensive and special teams assistant before being promoted in 2012 to receivers coach.
WINONA STATE (2000-02, 07-09): Spent two separate stints with his alma mater. His first stint lasted three years, during which he served as the offensive passing game coordinator and receivers coach. In his second run, from 2007-09, he was the assistant head coach and offensive coordinator while also serving as receivers coach.
ST. THOMAS (2006): Walch spent one season with St. Thomas as special teams coordinator and running backs coach.
DAKOTA STATE (2003-05): Coached quarterbacks and wide receivers while serving as offensive coordinator.
PLAYING CAREER – WINONA STATE (1995-99): Walch was a standout All-American running back, receiver, and return specialist for Winona State University from 1996 to 1999. He earned All-America honors in 1998 and 1999, and he was named All-Conference at running back, receiver, punt returner, and kick returner over the 1998 and 1999 seasons. Overall, he scored 33 total touchdowns, and he still sits fifth on the all-time all-purpose yardage list at Winona with 4,826 yards. In 1999, Walch was a Regional Harlon Hill Finalist as the top Division II player in the nation.
