FRESHMAN YEAR (2019): Played in 21 games, starting in 13 primarily at first base … tallied six hits … accounted for two runs and two RBI … walked six times … recorded her first collegiate hit against New Mexico State on Feb. 9.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Gilbert High School, graduating in 2018 … played four years of softball, earning player of the year in 2017 and offensive player of the year in 2018 … named all-region in 2017 and 2018 … three-time all-district in 2016, 2017 and 2018 … was all-state in 2017.
PERSONAL: Born March 5 in Tomball, Texas … parents are Missy and Doug Peterson … Has two older brothers: D.J. and Dustin … D.J. played baseball at UNM from 2011 to 2013 and was the first three-time All-American at UNM before being drafted 12th overall by the Seattle Mariners in the 2013 MLB Draft … Dustin is currently in the Detroit Tigers organization while D.J. is in the Cincinnati Reds organization … intends to major in physical education.
