Sophomore (2015): Finished second on the women’s nordic squad in points with 222, going for nine races and scoring in all nine … recorded 222 points … had two top-5 finishes, six top-10s and nine top-20s … did it all despite a bad back that hindered her much of the year … didn’t attempt a race until the second meet, going for just the freestyle at the Colorado/Spencer Nelson Invitational, finishing 18th … finished 11th in the classical and 10th in the freestyle at the Jade Enterprises/UNM Invitational … finally started to feel like herself after the break in the season, and had a great week in Alaska … finished seventh in the classical at the Alaska-Anchorage Invitational, and then had her first podium of the season and 11th of her career with a third place finish in the freestyle … on the same courses for the RMISA/NCAA West Regionals, she improved one spot to sixth in the classical and second in the freestyle … was eighth in the freestyle, earning second team All-America honors at the NCAA National Championships.
Freshman (2014): Turned in one of the greatest freshman seasons in UNM Nordic history, twice earning First Team All-America honors, including winning the national championship in the 15K freestyle … was named First Team All-RMISA in Nordic and the was named the RMISA Women’s Nordic Athlete of the Year … finished in the top four in each of her last 11 races, with three wins and 10 podium finishes … ironically opened her career with a 16th place finish in the classical at the Pat Miller Invitational … she would not finish worse than fourth again for the season … bounced back from the 16th place finish to finish third in the freestyle, the first of 10 podium finishes … finished third in both the 5K classical and the 10K freestyle in the Montana State Invitational … earned her first win, and first of three out of her final four races in the freestyle, winning the 15K at the Colorado/Spencer Nelson Invitational … nearly swept both titles, finishing second in the classical … earned the RMISA Nordic Skier of the Week for her efforts in Colorado … at the Jade Enterprises/New Mexico Invitational, she finished second in the classical and then fourth in the freestyle … at the RMISA/NCAA West Championships, Sever Rus took home the title in the freestyle, and finished third in the classical … at the NCAA Championships, she earned First Team All-America honors with a third place finish in the classical … followed that up by becoming UNM’s first Nordic freestyle NCAA champion on the women’s side since Ivana Radlova in 1993.
Prior to UNM: Skiing competitively for TSK Valkarton Logatec in Solvenia … had only one title to her credit in her FIS career, winning the 5K freestyle at Dvorista-Pale in Bosnia-Hertogovenia … only skied in six races in the 2013 prior to her arrival, but she had six top-20s and three top-10s … had three top-10s in 5K freestyle races, including a win at Dvorista-Pale in Bosnia-Herzegovina … followed that up two weeks later with finishes of second and sixth at the same distance.
