Junior (2014): Had a terrific junior season with 10 top-10 finishes in 12 races, including a podium finish at the NCAA National Championships … was a Frist Team All-American in the 20K freestyle … was named Second Team All-RMISA … opened his season with back-to-back sixth place finishes in the freestyle and classical at the Pat Miller Invitational … had a career-best tying finish in the 10K classical at Montana State, finishing second … also was ninth in the freestyle there … finished fifth at the Colorado/Spencer Nelson Invitational in the 10K classical … ended his regular season with a fourth place finish in the 10K freestyle at the Jade Enterprises/New Mexico Invitational … was eighth in the classical at the Jade … did well at the RMISA/NCAA West championships, finishing sixth in both the freestyle and the classical … earned First Team All-America honors, turning in his best freestyle race of the year, finishing third in the 20K … finished 15th in the classical at the NCAAs.
Sophomore (2013): Finished a career-best runner-up in the men’s 10K classic and sixth in the men’s 20K mass-start freestyle to earn First and Second Team All-America honors…First Team All-RMISA honoree…led the Lobos in every RMISA event in 2013 and placed in the top-10 in all regular season races…finished 13th and sixth in the classical and freestyle at the 2013 RMISA Championships/NCAA West Regionals…placed as high as 2nd in the CL at UNM’s Invite (and at the 2013 NCAAs)…named UNM men’s Nordic team MVP…finished fourth overall in the RMISA MVP points with 366.
Prior to UNM: A 2009 graduate of Norges Toppidretsgymnas (The Norwegian College of Elite Sport) in Lillehammer, Norway…lettered in Nordic skiing three times…attended Lillehammer University College part time for three years.
Personal: Born on Feb. 28 to Anskar Resaland and Lena Rudin in Kongsberg, Norway…has one sibling, Mari…enjoys bouldering, running, traveling and cooking…favorite athletes are Aleksander Dale Oen and Magnus Midtbo…lists salmon as his favorite food and 300 as his favorite movie…majoring in business administration.
