JUNIOR (2024-25): Played in 12 games… averaged 3.0 points per game, 1.7 rebounds per game, 0.4 assists and 0.4 steals per game in 7.5 minutes per game… scored a season-high eight points in her first appearance as a Lobo against Morehead State… recorded a season-high six rebounds against South Carolina State… went 2-2 from three-point range against Morehead State and made two three-pointers against UC Irvine.
PRIOR TO UNM: Spent last two seasons at Trinity Valley Community College… named NJCAA Second Team All-American and Second Team All-Conference… averaged 4.7 points per game, shooting 44.4% from the floor and averaged 12.1 minutes per game in 34 games with 10 starts her freshman season… started in all 33 games, and averaged 16.9 points per game, shot 47.9% and improved her rebounding to 6.8 boards a game from 2.2 her freshman season, going from 76 to 225 total rebounds as a sophomore… averaged 1.1 steals per game (from 0.5 as a freshman) and 0.4 blocks per game (from 0.2 as a freshman) in her most recent season.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Hyde School in 2022 but also attended Coventry Christian School… a two-time champion and accumulated 1000 points… was two-time player of the year, a First Team All-American and a Second Team All-American during her high school career.
PERSONAL: Birthday is Sept. 8…born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo… parents are Kayoko and Viviane Mwamba… has 11 siblings… majoring in liberal arts and integrative studies… speaks five languages (French, English, Lingala, Swahili and Tshiluba).
Mwamba on why UNM: I chose UNM because of the good reputation of the school. I want to win, but I also liked how I am going to fit on the team as a friend, student and player.
