ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s basketball team begins its 2026-27 regular season schedule on Monday night by hosting Utah Tech. Game time at The Pit – Powered by Nusenda is 7:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on MW+.

Tickets for Monday’s season opener are on sale now at GoLobos.com/tickets. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m.

The Lobos were picked as the preseason favorite in the Mountain West. New Mexico returns three players from last year’s 26-11 NIT semifinalist squad, including preseason Mountain West Player of the Year Jake Hall and Uriah Tenette, both preseason All-Mountain West selections. UNM went 2-1 in the preseason, winning at Oklahoma State, defeating Washington State at home before a loss to Arizona State in the preseason finale.

Utah Tech was picked seventh in the preseason Big Sky poll, as the Trailblazers join the league this season from the WAC. Utah Tech went 2-0 in the preseason, recording home exhibition wins over Utah Valley and West Coast Baptist College.

Monday’s game will be the second all-time meeting between the schools, and the first in Albuquerque. The Lobos won a 72-63 road matchup with the Trailblazers, then known as Dixie State, during the 2020-21 season. That season, Utah Tech’s Burns Arena was one of the venues the Lobos used to host games.

Monday’s game will air on MW+, the Mountain West's new direct-to-consumer digital subscription platform, powered by Kiswe, a leading streaming technology and services company. The platform is a big step forward for the Conference’s digital evolution, expanding access to live and on-demand content and creating new opportunities for fan engagement and revenue for member institutions. Most of each subscription purchased through a member school’s dedicated page will directly support that institution, creating a scalable and sustainable revenue opportunity aligned with fan engagement.

Along with live events such as football, soccer, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, baseball, and softball, MW+ will get you exclusive access to live press conferences, podcasts, and coaches' shows.
