ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- The University of New Mexico swimming & diving team, after a fun, successful Cherry/Silver exhibition, opens the 2026-27 season with a home meet on Saturday, October 10, against North Texas.
The Mean Green are in the Land of Enchantment for two meets, traveling to take on New Mexico State on Friday before UNM on Saturday.
For the Lobos, UNM features 17 returners, 13 in the pool and four on the diving board. Leading the way among the returners is Alice English, a two-time All-Mountain diver who earned honors in both the 1- and 3-meter dives.

Fourth-year swimmers Alex McGill and Sophia Corder will anchor the squad, which also features six new swimmers and a pair of new divers. Two of the newcomers hail from England: sprinter Liv O'Mahony and diver Isabelle Parkinson. Two New Mexico natives also joined the squad: transfer Maya Van Atta of Albuquerque and transfer Ruby Sallah, a Santa Fe native.
After only one home meet last season, the Lobos open the 2026-27 season with back-to-back home meets, hosting UTRGV next Friday at 2 pm at Siedler Natatorium.
UNM will also host Nevada and New Mexico State. The Mountain West Championships are February 16-20 at the CRWC Natatorium in Houston, Texas. The championships will be held with the Mountain West Men's Swimming & Diving Championships, necessitating the extra day.
