PROVO, Utah --- The UNM men's tennis team will take on the best of the Mountain Region at the ITA Mountain Regionals, hosted by BYU, from Tuesday, October 6, through Saturday, October 10.

The Lobos will enter the tournament with five doubles teams. Max Relic and Alberto Perez are seeded fifth and will get a first-round bye, where they will take on the winners between Air Force's team of Tyler Leaird and Caden Lee and Idaho's Paul Janson and Mikolaj Lis in the Round of 32.

In the Round of 64, Andrew Lavine and Carl Labitske will take on Nevada's Sebastiano Cressi and Gregoire Valente. Other Round of 64 matchups include Connor Dils and David Schwarc facing Montana State's Elijah Calaquian and Ethan Masselis, Dario Ciobotaru and Philip Bosin taking on Montana State's Eddie Biss and Andre Stewart, and Nikhil Srivatsa and Juan Rodriguez facing Air Force's Sebastian Mazur and Kai Stolaru.

In singles, 58 players will attempt to earn one of 16 wild cards into the main draw via two rounds of qualifying. Five Lobos must win two qualifying rounds to enter the main draw, with qualifying matches also played on Tuesday.

Rodriguez will play Caden Lee of Air Force in his opening match. Lavine will face Antonie du toit Malan of Weber State, and Srivatsa will face Beckham Butler of Weber State. In the second half of qualifying, Labitzke will face Air Force's Sebastian Mazur, and Connor Dils will face Montana's Mason McCarty.

UNM's five other singles players in the main draw will all play Wednesday, with two players seeded. No. 13 seed David Schwarc will play Utah's Julius Belt, and No. 15 seed Dario Ciobotaru will play a qualifier.

Philip Bosin will play BYU's David Duong, and Max Relic will face BYU's Caden Hasler. Alberton Perez will take on a qualifier in his opening match.
