ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico women’s golf team returns to action this week with a trip to Kansas for the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational. The event at the 6,169-yard, par-71 Lawrence Country Club will run Monday-Tuesday.
The first two rounds of the tournament will be played on Monday, with the final round scheduled for Tuesday. Live scoring will be available on Clippd.
This year’s tournament features 13 schools. Joining the Lobos in the field is host Kansas, Cal, Central Arkansas, Creighton. Delaware, Longwood, Middle Tennessee, Northern Iowa, Omaha, San Francisco, St. Thomas and UC Davis.
New Mexico’s lineup for the event is Ava Cepeda, Ausanee Udkamtiang, Ciara Rushmer, Chelsea Truong and Julia Gelma.
The Lobos have started the season with a pair of third place finishes in their first two events of the year. The last time they accomplished that feat was 2022-23, when they finished the season with a ninth place finish at the NCAA Championship.
