ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s basketball team makes its home preseason debut on Sunday afternoon with an exhibition matchup with Washington State in the Power Ford Tip-Off Series. Game time at The Pit – Powered by Nusenda is 2:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on MW+.
Season ticket holders are reminded to log into their account at GoLobos.com/myaccount to reserve their seats for Sunday’s game at the cost of $5 per ticket. Individual game tickets for the Power Ford Tip-Off Series are also available at GoLobos.com/tickets, beginning at $15 plus fees.
The game is the second of three preseason games for the Lobos in 2026-27. New Mexico opened its exhibition schedule last Sunday with a 99-89 win at Oklahoma State. Preseason Mountain West Player of the Year Jake Hall led UNM in Stillwater with a 31-point performance. Sunday’s preseason game will be the first public exhibition of the year for Washington State.
The Lobos were picked as the preseason favorite in the Mountain West. New Mexico returns three players from last year’s 26-11 NIT semifinalist squad, including Hall and Uriah Tenette, both preseason All-Mountain West selections.
Washington State is coming off a 12-20 season in 2025-26, going 7-11 in their second season in the WCC before returning to the Pac-12 this year. The Cougars open this year at No. 102 in the KenPom ratings.
Sunday’s exhibition marks the second straight year the teams have played in the preseason. Last year the Cougars posted a 74-66 win over UNM in the preseason debut in Pullman.
The Lobos conclude the preseason on Oct. 25 by hosting Arizona State in the second game of the Power Ford Tip-Off Series. As is the case with the Washington State game, season ticket holders are reminded to log into their account at GoLobos.com/myaccount to reserve their seats for the Arizona State game at the cost of $5 per ticket.
The Power Ford Tip-Off Series games against Washington State and Arizona State also mark the first men’s basketball games for UNM on the new streaming service MW+.
