DAVIS, Calif. — New Mexico shook off an opening-set loss and controlled the final three frames Saturday afternoon at University Credit Union Center, defeating UC Davis in four (20-25, 25-15, 25-13, 25-16) sets to complete a two-match road sweep and extend its winning streak to four.

The Lobos (6-10, 4-2 MW) handed the Aggies their second consecutive conference loss after UC Davis entered the weekend unbeaten in Mountain West play. UNM has now won four straight conference matches after snapping a seven-match losing streak against Nevada last Friday.

Two days after outlasting the Aggies in five sets, the Lobos again needed to respond after dropping the opener, with things tied at 20-20 before Davis rattled off five points in a row to surge ahead late. This time, UNM left little room for a comeback, winning each of the next three sets by at least nine points and holding UC Davis to a combined 44 points across those frames.

New Mexico never trailed in the second set and pulled away early in the third behind four blocks, limiting the Aggies to .053 hitting. The Lobos saved their most efficient offensive performance for the fourth, putting away 14 kills with just one error on 27 swings (.481) before scoring the final five points to finish the match.

Mina Stanojevic led UNM with a match-high 14 kills on .268 hitting, adding eight digs and two aces. Reagan Miller added nine kills on .375 hitting and three total blocks, while Zoe Leonard contributed eight more on .353 hitting to go with three blocks and an ace in three sets of action. Uliana Yastrub added seven kills on .400 hitting and two aces.

Madeleine Miller finished with 35 assists, nine digs, three kills and an ace. Camila Canedo anchored the back row with a match-high 18 digs and added four assists, two aces and a kill, while Addison France contributed five kills, 10 digs and a match-high five blocks, including two solo efforts. Ella Joesting added eight digs and an ace.

The Lobos finished with 48 kills on .295 hitting, committing just 12 attack errors while holding UC Davis to .159 hitting with 22 errors. UNM also held advantages in digs (58-52), blocks (8-7) and aces (9-8), serving five errors to the Aggies’ nine. After hitting .226 in the second, the Lobos improved to .258 in the third before closing at .481 in the fourth.
