ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The New Mexico Lobos are on the road for a second straight week, taking on the New Mexico State Aggies in the 116th edition of the Rio Grande Rivalry. The game is worth four points in the HB Construction Rio Grande Rivalry Series, which is currently tied 1-1.
The Lobos are 2-1 on the season, coming off a close 14-6 loss to No. 21 Oklahoma in Norman, a game in which UNM's defense allowed fewer than 300 yards for the sixth time in the last seven games. New Mexico State lost 29-19 at Hawai'i two weeks ago and had the weekend off last week with a bye.
