ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s golf team will play its home event of the 2026-27 season on Friday and Saturday as it hosts the 71st William H. Tucker Invitational. The event at the 7,555-yard, par-72 UNM Championship Course is free for spectators to attend.
The first two rounds of the tournament will be played on Friday, beginning with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. The final round will be Saturday, starting with a 7:45 a.m. shotgun start. Live scoring will be available on Clippd.
This year’s tournament features one of its deepest fields ever, as 13 of the 15 teams finished last season ranked in the top 100, including eight in the top 50. The Lobos are joined in this year’s field by Arizona, Arkansas State, BYU, Colorado, Grand Canyon, Long Beach State, Missouri, New Mexico State, San Diego State, Santa Clara, SMU, UC Santa Barbara, UNLV and UTEP.
The Lobos will feature a lineup of Johnnie Clark, Wyatt Provence, Thayer Plewe, Clark Sonnenberg and Oliver Scriven. Cade Freeze, Dylan Park, Tyson Embry and Albin Ivarsson will compete as individuals.
New Mexico is coming off a title at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational, a 10-shot win in Ontario. Johnnie Clark took the individual title, his second in as many events this season to become the first Lobo since 2003 to win consecutive titles.
The William H. Tucker Intercollegiate is one of the oldest collegiate tournaments in the nation and dates back to 1955 when the Lobos won the inaugural event. New Mexico has won the event 15 times, most recently in 2023.
