MORAGA, Calif. – New Mexico volleyball fell in straight sets to Saint Mary’s (26-28, 16-25, 20-25) Thursday at UCU Pavilion, dropping to 2-7 on the season.
Reagan Miller and Addison France led the Lobos with 10 kills apiece, hitting .238 and .206, respectively. Both added three blocks to share the team lead, with Miller recording two solo stops.
Madeleine Miller finished with 22 assists and produced UNM’s lone service ace, while Camila Canedo anchored the back row with 13 digs. Mina Stanojevic added eight digs and four kills, and Uliana Yastrub contributed three kills and five digs.
Freshman setter Angela Zhang made her UNM debut in the third set, dishing out four assists in the process.
The Lobos held Saint Mary’s to a .189 hitting percentage but hit .124 themselves, finishing with 31 kills to the Gaels’ 43. Saint Mary’s (5-6) also held advantages in aces (8-1) and digs (46-33). Antonie Kelnarova paced the Gaels with 14 kills on .385 hitting, 10 digs and four aces.
