ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- Lobo Football has the reigning Mountain West Coach of the Year in Jason Eck. The reigning Mountain West Co-Defensive Player of the Year and the preseason Defensive Player of the Year in Jaxton Eck. Five preseason All-MW honorees in Eck, Malik Aliane, Troy Omiere, Brian Booker, and Cade Keith. It has momentum after a 9-4 campaign that ended in the Rate Bowl.
It has a current seven-game home winning streak, and UNM opens the season with back-to-back home games. The Lobos are still the toast of the nation on social media with a Sopranos-themed schedule release and Jason Eck taking to the air (literally) in a helicopter to spread the message of Lobo Football and to make sure fans have season tickets (which can still be purchased right here).
But that's all well and good, but UNM will have to prove it on the field, and while the team has taken advantage of spring ball and summer workouts, the time is now for Fall Camp '26 to commence, and it starts in earnest on Wednesday on the UNM South Practice Fields with the opening practice from 9-11:30 am.
All UNM Fall Camp practices are open to the media and public.
The Lobos roster is 112-deep, and UNM returns more starters and production than any other team in the Mountain West. It's also a new-look Mountain West, as five schools (Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, San Diego State, and Utah State) left the league, and the MW welcomed three new football schools: Northern Illinois, North Dakota State, and regional rival UTEP.

Fans can park in the main Stadium West parking lot to come to practice. For practices in the stadium, fans may sit in the stands. For practices on the practice fields, fans should bring a camp chair for seating. Fans can sit beyond the end zones, or on the hill outside the Indoor Practice Facility.
