New Mexico Baseball has earned the 2025-26 American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award presented by Sports Attack, the organization announced Wednesday.
The Lobos received the honor for the fifth consecutive year after compiling a 3.67 team grade-point average during the 2025-26 academic year. New Mexico posted a 3.72 GPA during the fall semester before recording a 3.62 GPA in the spring – UNM has posted a 3.0 or better in 27 of the last 28 semesters, with the top eight semester GPAs in program history all under Head Coach Tod Brown.
The ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes member high school and college baseball programs that maintained a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale during the academic year.
More than 800 programs nationwide received the award in 2025-26, including nearly 500 college programs and more than 320 high school programs.
To qualify for the honor, a team must be a high school or college baseball program, have a head coach who is a current ABCA member and post a minimum cumulative team GPA of 3.0 during the academic year.
