LAS VEGAS, Nev. --- For the second year in a row, and for the 10th time in the last 14 years, The University of New Mexico has led the Mountain West in All-Academic selections with 245 honorees as the league announced its winter and spring All-Academic lists.

The Lobos also led the way in winter and spring totals, with 149 honorees.

Baseball (25), men’s golf (6) and women’s tennis (9) all led their respective sports in the conference, with softball (17) finishing second.

To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution, maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and competed in 50 percent of the team's completed varsity contests. Some latitude was permitted to accommodate injured student-athletes.

UNM’s total of 245 was its third-best single-year total behind last year’s 273 and the 2020-21 academic year, when UNM had 275 honorees. That year, the participation requirement was omitted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
