ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— An old Mountain West matchup will return to the hardwood as New Mexico and BYU have announced a home-and-home series for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons.
The series begins in Provo, Utah with the Lobos scheduled to play the Cougars on Nov. 14, 2026 with a to be determined date in The Pit-Powered by Nusenda in 2027-28.
UNM and BYU have played 67 times, starting in 1975 and the last time in 2011, with 31 games played in Provo and 31 games played in Albuquerque.
A member of the Big 12, the Cougars went 26-12 last season, 9-9 in conference, losing in the WBIT Championship.
The rest of the non-conference schedule will be released at a later date.
