MESA, Ariz. – New Mexico couldn’t get its bats going in a morning elimination game with No. 3 seed Air Force Saturday at Sloan Park, falling 11-1 in eight innings to put an end to the Lobos’ season.

UNM concludes the 2026 season with a 29-24-1 record and a 12-11-1 mark in Mountain West games. The Lobos won their first MW Tournament game since 2017 on Thursday night with a 13-4 rout of No. 4 seed Nevada – their third win in a row – but dropped back-to-back matchups to No. 1 seed San Diego State and No. 3 seed Air Force the following two days to conclude their postseason run.

UNM scored the first run of the game in the opening frame but couldn’t muster another through nine innings, with redshirt senior Luke Mansy picking up both of the Lobos’ hits and an RBI in his final collegiate game and grad senior Khalil Walker scoring UNM’s lone run in his.

In his second start of the season after earning the save in Thursday’s win, LHP Cooper Corkrean (3.0 IP, 6 H, 4 R / 4 ER, 0 BB, 1 K) kept the lead intact through two innings but was tagged with the loss after the Falcons jumped him for for runs in the third. RHP Ethin Woltz (1.2 IP, 7 H, 5 R / 5 ER, 2 BB, 0 K) produced the next five outs before RHP Diego Alvarez (2.1 IP, 6 H, 2 R / 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K) threw the rest of the way.
