ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— With the conference schedule announced, the remainder of the 2026 Lobo soccer schedule has been finalized with the Lobos playing a total of eight non-conference matches, five of which at home.
UNM opens the 2026 season with three home matches, starting on Aug. 20 against Northern Arizona. The Lobos host Gonzaga three days later before closing the month against Cal State Northridge on Aug. 30.
The first three matches of September will be on the road as UNM heads north to Colorado to play the Buffaloes on Sept. 3 and remain in the area to play Northern Colorado on Sept. 6. UNM closes out the road matches at New Mexico State on Sept. 12 before closing the non-conference schedule with two home matches against Utah Tech on Sept. 17 and Idaho State on Sept. 20.
UNM’s schedule features new competition as it faces Northern Arizona for the first time since 2024 and the first time at home since 2023 and Gonzaga for the first time since 1995, which was also in Albuquerque. The Lobos face Cal State Northridge for the first time since 2011 and the first time at home since 2009 and will head to Boulder for the first time since 2015. New Mexico last played Northern Colorado in 2009, but this will be the first meeting in Greeley, and will play Utah Tech for the second time overall with the only other match at a neutral site in 2021. In addition, the Lobos will host Idaho State for the first time since 2018, the last time the two teams met.
Between the non-conference and conference schedule, UNM will have 10 home matches.
