ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Lobos have added nine players to the roster with six guards and three forwards.

“I am really excited about the team we have put together this last month,” commented Head Coach Amy Eagan. “We have a group of talented young women that are also great people who will wear The University of New Mexico across their chests with pride. We look forward to getting them all here in June and getting to work.

“I would like to thank all of my staff and support staff for their tireless work this past month."

In addition to the already announced Valerie Norwood, the Lobos added guards in Gracy Wernli and Kate Wernli from Bixby, Oklahoma, who will be an incoming freshman and senior, respectively, Keiara Curtis, an incoming sophomore from Seattle, Washington and an incoming freshman in Savannah Stricker from St. Louis, Missouri.  Also at the guard spot, the Lobos added Katie Duncan, an incoming junior from Perth, Australia. At the forward position, the Lobos added Gracie Kelsey, an incoming senior from Agency, Missouri, Brynn Eshoo an incoming redshirt sophomore from Inverness, Illinois and Mila Reynolds, an incoming redshirt senior from South Bend, Indiana.  

Gracy Wernli most recently played for Head Coach Amy Eagan at Lindenwood, where she played in 14 games with 12 starts and averaged 24.2 minutes per game. She averaged 7.2 points per game and 2.1 rebounds per game with 15 offensive rebounds and 15 defensive rebounds, and also finished with 16 steals, 14 assists and 15 three-pointers while shooting 43.5% from the floor and 36.6% from three-point range. Wernli made multiple three-pointers in three games last season, including a 5-6 performance from behind the arc against Hawai’i. She finished in double figures in three games with a season high of 18 against Hawai’i.

She spent two seasons with the Lions, playing in 47 games with 45 starts, starting all 33 games in the 2024-25 season and averaged 10.5 points per game with 32 steals, 22 assists and 71 rebounds in 27.6 minutes per game. Wernli scored in double figures in 19 games with a season-high 23 points and reached double digits in seven consecutive games during the season. The 5-9 guard made multiple three-pointers in 15 games with two games with five three-pointers and had two separate stretches making a three-pointer, including a stretch of 10 consecutive games and a stretch of eight consecutive games. She finished with 50 three-pointers on the season, the second highest on the team.

Prior to attending Lindenwood, Wernli played at Abilene Christian, playing in 28 games with a start, scoring 13 points in the start for her season high. She registered double-digits in three games as a freshman, and went 35-37 from the free-throw line.

A 6-2 forward from Missouri, Kelsey spent the past three seasons at Lindenwood, playing in 72 games with 40 starts, averaging 6.8 points per game and 4.7 rebounds per game in her three years. The forward was also efficient from the free-throw line, shooting 81.5%, and from the floor, shooting 47.8% throughout her three years.

In her most recent season with the Lions, Kelsey averaged 7.2 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game and finished with 91 assists, 28 steals and shot 47.0% in 23.8 minutes per game. She started all 33 games and finished in double figures in 12 games with five or more rebounds in 16 games, seven or more in nine and a season-high 10.

Her sophomore season, she shot 51.2% from the floor and 84.5% from the free-throw line, registered 17 blocks and averaged 5.0 rebounds per game and 6.8 points per game. She improved her stats from her sophomore to junior season, going from 40 assists to 91 and eight steals to 28, while increasing her minutes per game from 16.6 to 23.8.

Curtis spent her freshman season at Hawai’i, playing in 33 games with 18 starts and averaged 23.5 minutes per game. The 5-8 guard was named to the Big West All-Freshman Team and averaged 9.0 points per game, shooting 40.2% from the floor and 38.5% from behind the arc with 42 three-pointers. In addition, she averaged 3.3 rebounds per game to go with 25 steals, six blocks and a team-high 70 assists.

The Washington native reached double figures in 18 games with a season-high 19, five or more rebounds in 10 games and multiple steals in five games.

Stricker comes to Albuquerque after winning the Missouri Class 6 State Championship at Incarnate Word Academy with Incarnate Word finishing seventh in the MaxPreps Top 25 rankings following the 2025-26 season. Stricker was named First Team All-District and First Team All-Conference and averaged 10.2 points per game, 6.6 rebounds per game and 4.9 assists per game while shooting 55% from the floor and 37% from three-point range her senior season. During her high school career, Stricker was a four-time state champion and two-time team captain, and at the club level, played for Napheesa Collier Elite.

Kate Wernli is a 5-9 guard from Bixby High School, scoring over 1100 points in her high school career and averaged 15 points per game and five rebounds per game. She was named the District Offensive Player of the Year in 2024-25 as well as a two-time all-district selection and a three-time Tulsa World All-State recipient.

Reynolds started her career at Maryland, where she played in 22 games all coming off of the bench. She scored 23 points with a season-high five points against Penn State and Pittsburgh and 19 rebounds with season highs of three against DePaul and Pittsburgh. The 6-3 forward transferred to Purdue, where she played in 27 games, scoring 65 points with 20 rebounds, including a season-high 15 points against Butler. She spent the previous season at UT Arlington, playing in 32 games with 18 starts, finishing with 215 points and 56 rebounds, scoring double-digit points in eight games, twice with 17 points.

A 6-2 forward, Eshoo spent two seasons at Tulsa, playing in four games and 23 minutes, scoring 13 points in her last season. In her two games during the 2025-26 season, the guard scored five points against New Orleans and eight points against Prairie View.

The final newcomer, Duncan comes to the Lobos from Hutchinson Community College, where she played 69 games with 35 starts and averaged 14.4 points per game, 3.4 assists per game and 4.1 rebounds per game. Last season, the 5-8 guard started in 35 of 36 games and averaged 15.6 points per game, 4.5 rebounds per game, 3.8 assists per game and 2.9 steals per game while playing 33.3 minutes per game. She shot 33.3 percent from three-point range with 76 made three-pointers after making 41 three-pointers her first season with the Blue Dragons.

The nine newcomers brings the Lobo roster to 15 for the 2026-27 season.
