New Mexico Track & Field wrapped up its final regular-season competition of the year at the Arizona Desert Heat Classic and Stanford Payton Jordan Invitational with 14 new personal bests and three new program records, with Eva Ngom setting a new 400m record with the first sub-52 outdoor performance in school history (51.83) and Taniya Looney improving on her 100m program record with an 11.18 wind-legal season best before Ajia Hughes (1.83m) broke a high jump record that had stood since 2021.

Ngom ran a new personal best for the third time in a row as she dipped below 52 seconds for the first time, winning the event with a 51.83 clocking. In her last race, she tied Rebecca Grieve (52.08) for the UNM outdoor record – she now has sole possession of the school record by a difference of a quarter of a second. That performance from Ngom also moves her into the Top 30 in the nation (No. 26).
Behind her, Lou-Anne Pouzancre Hoyer broke the 53-second mark for the first time this season, running just a tenth of a second shy of her all-time outdoor best as she finished fourth (52.70). Sofia Pineda ran a new personal best of 53.41 that ranks No. 6 on the UNM outdoor list.

2025 NCAA Outdoor Championship qualifier Ajia Hughes soared above 1.83m for her highest clearance as a Lobo – indoors or outdoors – and just shy of her lifetime best of 1.84m (6' 0.5) to win the women’s high jump and break a UNM program record that had stood since 2021. She’s now the UNM record holder in both the indoor and outdoor high jump, leading the Mountain West in the event and ranking 13th in the nation.
