COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –– Four members of the New Mexico men’s golf team were honored as the Mountain West announced the 2025-26 all-conference team. UNM tied a school record with four selections as senior Mesa Falleur, junior Johnnie Clark and freshmen Thayer Plewe and Emil Albers were all selected to the 10-player team. In addition, Plewe was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Year.

Falleur earns All-Mountain West honors for the second straight season. His 70.10 stroke average leads the Lobos and is on pace to be the second-best stroke average in program history. Ranked No. 21 nationally, Falleur had a pair of individual victories with wins at the Windon Memorial and The Goodwin.

Clark earned All-Mountain West honors in his first season as a Lobo after transferring from Oklahoma State. Ranked No. 83 nationally, he recorded his first collegiate win at the ASU Thunderbird Collegiate. He has a 70.64 stroke average, the eighth best in program history.

Plewe becomes the seventh Lobo to earn Mountain West Freshman of the Year honors. Ranked No. 218 nationally, he has a 71.67 stroke average. He posted two top-10 finishes this season, including a T-8th at the Mountain West Championship.

Albers is ranked No. 193 nationally and posted a 71.48 stroke average. In September, he won the title at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate, joining Stanford’s Tiger Woods in 1994 as the only freshmen to win medalist honors at UNM’s historic home event.

The four selections ties the school record set in 2012-13 when John Catlin, James Erkenbeck, Gavin Green and Victor Perez were honored.

The Lobos will travel to Texas next week to compete in the NCAA Bryan Regional at the Traditions Club, hosted by Texas A&M. The top five finishers will advance from the regional to the NCAA Championships, held later this month in Carlsbad, Calif.
