ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- The Lobos head on the road for a rare mid-week road match, taking on the Nevada Wolf Pack in a lupine battle that the Lobos hope kickstarts a stretch run into the Mountain West Tournament in two weeks.

The Lobos are 6-13 on the season and 0-3 in the Mountain West, coming off a 4-2 win over New Mexico State in UNM's final non-conference match of the season. Dario Ciobotaru clinched the win with a 6-2, 7-6 (9-7) victory in which he twice fought off set point, and then cashed in on his only match point for the win.

UNM got a boost with the return of Jan Skerbatis from injury, but he retired after a set in singles, knocking UNM back to six healthy players, although he is working at going this week. Connor Dils remained in the lineup and teamed with Ciotobaru for a 6-0 doubles win as UNM took the doubles point on the way to the rivalry win.

For Nevada, the Pack is 9-7 overall but 0-4 in the Mountain West, and they are coming off a 4-3 home loss to San Diego State and a 4-0 road loss at UNLV. The Lobos host UNLV on Saturday. The loss to San Diego State was the only home loss of the season for Nevada.
