ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- The Lobos will host Air Force on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the front part of UNM's Friday Block Party, featuring food trucks and games, as three of UNM's teams will be in action on Friday.
Along with men's tennis at 3 pm, the Lobos will be hosting Nevada in baseball at 6 p.m. and Fresno State in softball, also at 6 p.m. The Block Party, featuring tailgate games and food trucks, will begin at 5 p.m.
The Lobos are 7-14 on the season and 1-4 in the Mountain West, with a couple of those losses being 4-3 to nationally-ranked opponents. Air Force is 9-11 overall and 2-4 in the Mountain West. With a win, the Lobos will clinch the No. 6 seed in the Mountain West Tournament, and with a loss, UNM will be the No. 7 seed.
Air Force, with a win, could tie for fourth place with either Grand Canyon (which it defeated earlier this season) or Boise State (which it lost to).
The Lobos will honor their two seniors, both in their first season with the program. Tyler Waddock, from Calgary, Canada, has anchored the No. 5 slot in singles and the No. 2 slot in doubles, and Jan Skerbatis from Koenigsbrunn, Germany, has been banged up and in and out of the lineup with an injury. Both will be honored before the match.
