ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team travels to Indianapolis this week for the semifinals and finals of the 2026 National Invitation Tournament. The Lobos meet Tulsa Thursday’s first semifinal at historic Hinkle Fieldhouse on the campus of Butler University. Game time is 5:00 p.m. MT (7:00 p.m. ET) and the game will air on ESPN and the Lobo Radio Network.

The Lobos (26-10) are in the NIT semifinals for the third time in program history (1964 runner-up, 1990 fourth place). New Mexico advanced to Indianapolis with three home wins over Sam Houston, George Washington and Saint Joseph’s.  

Tulsa (29-7) is also making its third NIT semifinal appearance, having won the event in 1981 and 2001. The Golden Hurricane advanced with home victories over Stephen F. Austin, UNLV and Wichita State.   

The New Mexico-Tulsa winner will advance to the NIT final, held April 5 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, against the winner of the Auburn-Illinois State semifinal. The championship game, held at the home of the Indiana Pacers, will be 6 p.m. MT (8 p.m. ET) and air on ESPN2.
