ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team will play for a share of the 2025-26 Mountain West regular season title on Saturday afternoon when it visits Utah State in the regular season finale. Game time at the Smith Spectrum is 2:00 p.m. and the game will air on the Mountain West Network and the Lobo Radio Network.

With a victory, the Lobos (22-8, 13-6 MW) would tie Utah State (24-6, 14-5 MW) for the regular season title, while San Diego State could also earn a share of the title with a victory on Friday night. If New Mexico wins in Logan to earn a share of the title, the Lobos will likely have the tiebreaker and earn the No. 1 seed in next week’s Mountain West Tournament.

The Lobos are looking to rebound from a 82-74 home loss to Colorado State on Wednesday night in their home finale. New Mexico is led by Jake Hall, who could set the UNM freshman season scoring record on Saturday. He enters the game with 474 points on the season, 10 shy of Kenny Thomas’ record of 484 set in 1995-96.

The Aggies have already clinched at least a share of the title and would earn the outright title with a win on Saturday. Utah State is coming off a 92-65 loss at UNLV on Tuesday.

The Aggies lead the all-time series 35-15, including a 7-3 mark at the Spectrum. Utah State won the first meeting of the season, 86-66, on Feb. 4 at The Pit. The Lobos won 82-63 last season at the Spectrum, snapping a six-game losing streak in Logan.

The Lobos have already secured a first round bye for next week’s Mountain West Tournament in Las Vegas and will begin play during Thursday’s quarterfinals at the Thomas & Mack Center. The tournament bracket will be announced following the final regular season game on Saturday night.
