Albuquerque, N.M. --- Head Men’s Tennis Coach Rob Bareford has announced that former player and Mountain West Champion Aram Noroozian has been named a second assistant coach for the program. He joins the staff after playing on the squad for four seasons, culminating in last year’s Mountain West championship and NCAA.

“Being able to add Aram is huge for our program. A 4-year starter and someone who played No. 1 Singles and No. 1 Doubles from last year’s championship team,” said Bareford. “He currently holds a 13.2 UTR, so there’s no question he can push our guys to be better. We are thrilled to have him with us.”

Last season, Noroozian played No. 1 singles for the Lobos, going unbeaten to run UNM’s streak to six consecutive seasons without a home court loss at No. 1 singles. He finished his career as a two-time Mountain West All-Conference selection, and his 66 singles wins were good for 24th all-time at UNM.
