LAS VEGAS, Nev. –– The No. 19 New Mexico men’s golf team continued play Monday at the Southern Highlands Collegiate, one of the most prestigious regular season events of the season. The Lobos shot 7-over during the second round at Southern Highlands Golf Club and are tied for 11th place after 36 holes at 12-under among a field that includes five of the top 10 and eight of the top 20 teams in the nation.
Top-ranked Virginia continues to lead the event with a 15-under total. No. 2 Auburn is second at 13-under, while Washington is the only other team under par, in third at 2-under.
Wyatt Provence and Johnnie Clark led the Lobos during the second round, each shooting a 1-over round of 73. Provence is the top Lobo on the individual leaderboard, T-25th at 1-over for the tournament. Mesa Falleur shot two over on Monday, while Emil Albers shot 3-over and Thayer Plewe shot 4-over.
The Southern Highlands Collegiate concludes Tuesday in Las Vegas.
